Antenna Range / Noise Figure Workshop

Noise Figure testing allows participants to tweak and test pre-amplifiers for the important quality of low noise figure. WD5AGO, xxx, and xxx helped provide the equipment and conduct the testing. These generous guys spend lots of time teaching and assisting attendees about circuit design and optimization.

The Antenna range was split into two operations. Marc Thorson WBØTEM tested antennas from 144 MHz to 432 MHz and Kent Britain WA5VJB tested antennas from 903 MHz to 80 GHz. Many folks pitched in to assist.

Make sure you bring pre-amps and antennas to your next conference. There are two pay-offs--one you go home knowing the performance of your antenna or pre-amp, and two, you learn so much in the process.
