Please share this information with anyone that I may have missed. Input & comments always welcomed. I have my power back at home but no Internet access nor phone yet. Changes to this Rev E1: * Added phone numbers for W0PHD and W0JT * Added JT to fixed group. * Note sent to W0AUS and W7XU. * Updated weather report at bottom Action Items - Input Needed !!!! 1) VE4MA - Barry, will you be available at Sat. 7:30 am sked to try with Rover Group South ? Its a very long path, but we want to try to make the morning tropo (if there is any). 2) W0ZQ - I have an email into Buck Hill to see if we can use it. As of 9:00 am this morning no response. 3) Need phone numbers for VE4MA Goals: Work some longer paths, try some new things, and oh ya, have some fun. We will not be as fast past as previous years. We will have at least three rover groups (Rover Group West, South, and North) and a fixed group. We do encourage everyone to give this a go, whether you are with the fixed group, a rover group, or somewhere else. The idea is to try some new paths and have some fun. If you have some interest in 10gigs, come on out to the fixed site and check it out. Primary communication tool for coordination will be cell phones. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE ARE TRYING SOME LONG AND VERY LONG PATHS THIS YEAR. THIS WILL NOT BE LIKE LAST YEAR. WE DO EXPECT THAT WE WILL BE SKUNKED ON SOME, PERHAPS MANY, OF OUR ATTEMPTS. BIGGER DISHES, HIGHER POWER, AND THE USE OF CW WILL INCREASE THE PROBABILITY OF SUCCESS. Rover Group West: W9FZ (xxx-xxx-xxxx) & KC0IYT (xxx-xxx-xxxx) N0UK (xxx-xxx-xxxx) & K0HAC (xxx-xxx-xxxx) WA2VOI (xxx-xxx-xxxx) W0ZQ (xxx-xxx-xxxx) Start out Sat morning @ 7:30 am just north of Pipestone, MN up on the Buffalo Ridge with an attempt to work VE4MA (if Barry is availalbe). This is a very long shot. At 8:00am we would look towards Lonsdale and others. After this we will work our way north and slightly west following the Ridge to overnight in Fargo. Short/medium range shots to KM0T, extremely long shots to VE4MA, and medium to long shots to both the Twin Cities area and Rover Group North. On Sunday we will most head a bit west of Fargo and then south, then back east before the trip back home. We do not anticipate making contacts with the Twin Cities group using 19" dishes and 2 watts or less - its just too far - UNLESS there is some help from Ma Nature. Rover Group South: WB0LJC (xxx-xxx-xxxx) KC0P (xxx-xxx-xxxx) Rove the SE MN areas SE of Rochester on Saturday. Should be "easy" shots to the fixed site at Lonsdale. Should be more of a challenge to the other two rover groups. Rover Group North: K0AWU 144.260 W0PHD xxx-xxx-xxxx Will be operating in the RRV. May start "south" near Fargo and drift northward as Rover Group South comes north. Will have 144.260 and cell phone. Fixed Group: N0KP xxx-xxx-xxxx KD0JI xxx-xxx-xxxx W0JT xxx-xxx-xxxx Who else ? All are welcomed. Saturday's operation will be at the church at Lonsdale. Distance to Rover Group West will be 220 to 340 km, which is longer than our previous averages. Distance to Rover Group South will be shorter. Operational by 8:00 am. On Sunday, Rover Group West will be at extreme range operating just past Fargo. N0KP and KD0JI will be at the top of Buck Hill looking for contacts - four wheel drive IS absolutely required for access and I am still checking on availability. Activity Time - Off of Downtown. 7:00 PM on Saturday evening, and again 7:00 pm on Sunday evening. If you can't get out for the weekend, this is a chance to get on a make a few Q's off of downtown. Weather Report: Rain chances for Friday night through Saturday night range from 30 to 60%, so a pretty good chance we will see at least some rain this weekend. Perhaps we can use it for scatter. Temperatures will remain cool, highs in the mid 70's. 73, W0ZQ
