Tracks 1-5 were introduced to me by a "Q Magazine Sampler 1998".

The Jansen, Barbieri, and Karn piece is a "remix" and runs just over 11 minutes long.  I thing it is great driving music "in town".

The Heather Nova piece--"Island" has a great range of emotions.  I think it's a great example of what's good about rock music in that raw, strong emotions come through loud and clear.  I like how it is kind of plaintive in the first 2:45 but then belts it out with plenty of angst.  I found this piece on the "Lilith Fair Sampler #2".

Stevie Ray Vaughn  -  "Riviera Paradise".  What a gem.  From "In Step".

Area were (are) a band from Champaign, IL.  They were on the defunct C'est La Mort label.  This is from "Radio Caroline".  This band evolved into The Moon Seven Times and has rumored to have recently reformed as Area.

Morrissey.  I took this from the Greatest Hits disk called "Bona Drag".

Blues Traveler.  This is from the WXRT "OnXRT Vol 3" compilation.

Mexico 70 were from England and were lead by former Felt bassist Mick Bund.

Tracey Thorn, in addtion to her solo work, was in the Marine Girls, and then later, Everything But the Girl.  This early solo piece was taken from an obscure 1982 Cherry Red sampler called "Pillows and Prayers".
