This wonderful camp mostly closed after the summer of 1979.  Owned and operated by the Blackhawk Area Council of Rockford, IL, this camp offered many fine experiences to the youth who passed through the camp's Gateway.  The property was sold sometime around 1986.

This camp is NOT the Northwoods Scout Reservation of Chief Okemos Council in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, NOR is this the former Northwoods Scout Reservation of the DuPage Area Council near Oxford, Wisconsin.
